Public consultation timeline

A public consultation for the proposed new electric bus depot in Versailles will run from November 12 to December 4, 2026. This period allows residents to review the planned development and submit their observations on the necessary urban planning changes.

Project details and funding

The new electric bus depot, planned in the Versailles–Saint-Cyr area near the Satory forest, is expected to cost more than 34 million euros. Île-de-France Mobilités, the project owner, will fully fund the facility, which is designed to accommodate 140 electric buses and include various operational spaces.

Design and environmental considerations

The project includes plans for green developments, architecture that respects the Versailles heritage, and underground basins for rainwater management. These elements aim to integrate the facility into the local landscape while minimizing environmental impact.

Construction timeline and participation

The design and construction contract for the project was awarded in June 2026, with construction expected to start in 2028 and finish by 2029. The facility is planned to be commissioned by 2030. Residents can participate in the consultation through the City of Versailles' urban planning department, a dedicated website, or in person at designated locations, with the consultation closing on December 4, 2026, at 5 p.m.
