Miele, a well-known manufacturer of household appliances, has unveiled the second generation of its cordless vacuum cleaner line, Duoflex, with the new model named HX2. This upgrade from the earlier HX1 version offers more versatile cleaning capabilities, combining suction, water cleaning, and autonomous maintenance features. The HX2 is set to launch in spring 2027 and will include an automatic emptying station, making it more convenient for users. One of the standout features of the HX2 is its AquaTurbo nozzle, which allows the vacuum to collect both dry dirt and spilled liquids. This nozzle uses rotating cylinders that move in opposite directions, a design also seen in Dyson’s Submarine brush and earlier Dyson models like the PencilVac. Additionally, the vacuum includes a SpeedLock system that lets users quickly detach the main body, turning it into a handheld vacuum for cleaning furniture and fabrics. The HX2 is compatible with Miele’s first automatic docking and maintenance station. This station empties the dust bin directly into a hygienic bag, reducing the need for manual emptying for up to 90 days. The vacuum also features an AutoCut mechanism that automatically removes hair wrapped around the brush and an AutoClean program that performs autonomous cleaning of the wet cylinders within the base. These features aim to reduce maintenance efforts and improve user experience. The HX2 is expected to offer a battery with up to 50% higher autonomy than the HX1, with a maximum operating time of 70 minutes in handheld mode. An integrated screen allows users to check the remaining battery life and the power level in use, while an automatic floor detection sensor adjusts the suction power based on the type of floor. The vacuum’s design includes matte and glossy elements with metallic accents, available in colors such as "Sand Beige," "Fjord Blue," or "Lemon Yellow." The price of the HX2 has not yet been announced, but the product is scheduled for a commercial launch in the European market during spring 2027.
