Miele has introduced the G8 Diamond, an autonomous dishwasher that uses artificial intelligence and a camera to manage the washing cycle independently. The device is equipped with the AutoVision system, which includes a camera integrated into the basket to analyze the content and fill level of the machine. This system allows the dishwasher to detect the presence of pots and intensify the cleaning, detect bottles and adjust the water flow, or identify plastic containers to adjust the drying process. The G8 Diamond is also capable of recognizing the materials of utensils and containers, ensuring optimal cleaning for each type of item. The dishwasher incorporates Miele's AutoDos system with PowerDisk, a disk that contains all detergents and other maintenance products. The device releases the correct dose of detergents in the form of granules at the appropriate time in the cycle, relieving the user from all interventions, from programming to dosing. However, users will need to purchase consumables exclusively from Miele at the manufacturer's set prices, which may affect long-term costs for owners. The management of drying is handled by the ExcellentDry system, which circulates hot air in the basket to ensure that the dishes, including often stubborn plastic ones, are perfectly dry and ready to be stored. The user can choose among three drying levels, from maximum energy saving, which can reach up to 25% savings, to absolute performance, depending on their needs and preferences. The G8 Diamond is also connected to the Internet and can be controlled via the Miele app. Users can set very precise operating rules in the app, allowing them to program a start only when the dishwasher is filled to 80% or to condition its start to the energy production of a photovoltaic installation. The physical ergonomics of the device have been rethought, with the utensil drawer evolving to form a real third level, capable of accommodating coffee cups. The baskets, equipped with foldable points and new supports, offer more modularity to adapt to all types of dishes. The control panel features a large touchscreen placed on the upper edge of the door, enhancing user interaction and convenience. The launch of the G8 Diamond is scheduled for April 2027 in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, before a deployment in other countries. However, the price has not been disclosed, leaving potential buyers to wait for more details before making a purchase decision.
