Acer has introduced the Vero 16, a 16-inch laptop designed with environmental sustainability and long-term usability in mind. This latest model continues the Vero series' focus on reducing electronic waste and extending the lifespan of devices. The Vero 16 uses recycled materials and features a design that makes it easier to repair and upgrade, reflecting Acer’s growing commitment to product longevity and repairability.
One of the key innovations in the Vero 16 is its redesigned chassis, which includes features that make disassembly and repair simpler. A latch on the bottom cover allows users to access internal components without needing tools, enabling them to replace the battery and solid-state drive (SSD) themselves. The external hinge is detachable, and the input/output ports on the sides can be removed separately. A visual guide, engraved directly onto the computer, helps users perform these maintenance tasks. Acer also plans to support processor upgrades for at least two generations, ensuring the laptop can keep up with evolving software and performance needs.
In terms of materials, the Vero 16 combines sustainability with durability. The top cover and palm rest use 50% post-industrial recycled aluminum and 50% low-carbon aluminum produced with hydroelectric energy. The bottom cover is made of 60% post-consumer recycled plastic, while the screen border contains 30% recycled material. The chassis is certified to the MIL-STD-810H standard, ensuring robustness, and features a solvent-free thermocoat finish that reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds and improves wear resistance. The packaging is entirely made of recycled materials and is fully recyclable, reinforcing the laptop’s eco-friendly profile.
The Vero 16 is powered by an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) processor, with the top model featuring the Intel Core Ultra X9 388H and the most powerful integrated graphics card from Intel, the Arc B390. The laptop includes a high-resolution 16-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, up to 32 GB of RAM, and an SSD storage capacity of up to 512 GB. It also includes a 71 Wh battery, multiple connectivity options, and a 5 MP webcam for video calls. The laptop will be available in France during the first quarter of 2027, though specific pricing and configurations have not yet been announced.
