Microsoft adds a new Settings option to reactivate Microsoft 365 subscriptions directly in Windows 11, simplifying management for users.
New subscription tool in Windows 11
Microsoft has added a new feature in Windows 11 that allows users to manage their Microsoft 365 subscriptions directly from the operating system. This tool lets users reactivate automatic billing for their subscriptions without needing to visit a website, which was previously required.Reactivation only, no cancellation
The feature is designed to reactivate recurring payments for Microsoft 365 subscriptions but does not include an option to cancel the subscription from within Windows 11. Users who want to cancel will still need to use the Microsoft account website.Price increases in France
Microsoft 365 Personal has increased in price in France since January 2025, rising from 69 to 99 euros annually. The Family plan has also gone up, from 99 to 129 euros per year. The company says the increase is due to the addition of the AI assistant Copilot.Other features in the test build
The test version of Windows 11, build 26340.9767, includes other new features such as an integrated bandwidth test in Quick Settings. This feature shows internet speed results without needing to open a web browser.Performance improvements and testing
Recent updates have also introduced automatic biometric recognition on startup. Microsoft is also testing a setting that activates APX, a performance enhancement for Intel processors, though current chips do not support it. Additionally, the company is working on Project Pantheon, an AI that only retains information it is given.Limited availability and warnings
The subscription reactivation feature is currently only available to users in the Experimental channel of the Windows Insider program. Microsoft warns that features tested in this channel may change, be removed, or not reach the general public. No official release date has been set for wider availability.
