New European routes announced

Air Transat, a Canadian leisure airline, has announced five new non-stop routes between Canada and Europe for the summer of 2027. These routes will connect Montreal and Toronto with Swiss and British cities, as well as Quebec with French and Spanish destinations.

Routes to start in June

The new routes will begin operations in June 2027 and run seasonally until the end of October. The airline plans to introduce these routes as part of a broader strategy to expand its European network and enhance existing connections.

Montreal to Geneva

Air Transat will launch a route between Montreal-Trudeau and Geneva on June 19, 2027. Two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, will operate until October 23. Geneva will serve as a gateway to the Alps and offer a mix of tourism, business, and academic travel.

Toronto to Birmingham

The service from Toronto-Pearson to Birmingham will start on June 22, 2027, with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Fridays until October 22. Birmingham will complement existing routes to London-Gatwick and Manchester, offering a new, uncompetitive destination for Canadian travelers.

Quebec to Lyon and Barcelona

Air Transat will connect Quebec to Lyon and Barcelona, with Lyon service starting on June 8 and Barcelona on June 14. Both routes will operate weekly until late October. These additions will bring the number of non-stop European destinations from Quebec to five, including Paris, Marseille, and Nantes.

Montreal to Faro

A new route from Montreal to Faro, Portugal, will begin on June 14, 2027, with weekly flights on Mondays until October 25. Faro will become the third Portuguese destination from Montreal, joining Lisbon and Porto, and will provide an alternative access point to southern Portugal.

Year-round Caribbean flights

Air Transat will extend its year-round service to the Dominican Republic and Saint-Martin beyond the winter of 2027. The Montreal–Saint-Martin route will operate once a week on Saturdays, while the Quebec–Puerto Plata route will run once a week on Mondays during the summer.

Partnership with Porter Airlines

The airline also highlights its partnership with Porter Airlines, which allows it to connect passengers from other Canadian cities to its international routes, enhancing its overall network reach.
