New European routes from Québec
Air Transat is expanding its flight offerings from Québec by adding direct routes to Lyon and Barcelona in the summer of 2027. The airline will operate direct flights from Jean-Lesage International Airport (YQB) to both cities. The flight to Barcelona will be the first non-stop service between Québec and Spain. These additions will bring the total number of European destinations accessible from Québec without stopovers to five, including Paris, Marseille, and Nantes.Schedule for new routes
The Québec-Lyon (LYS) flight will operate on Tuesdays from June 8 to October 26, 2027, with one flight per week. Air Transat will also continue to serve Puerto Plata (POP) in the Dominican Republic from Québec (YQB) year-round, with a weekly flight on Mondays during the summer.Community demand for new routes
Stéphane Poirier, president and chief executive officer of the Jean-Lesage International Airport in Québec, stated in the press release that "The destinations of Barcelona and Lyon have been long requested by our community," adding that "Barcelona and Lyon mark a new stage for Air Transat in Québec." He emphasized the significance of these new routes to the local population.Strategic expansion for Air Transat
