DJI announces Osmo Pocket 4 release

DJI has announced that it will release the Osmo Pocket 4 in April 2026, following the Osmo Pocket 3, which was launched two and a half years earlier. The new model is designed to build on the success of its predecessor while incorporating several key improvements.

Osmo Pocket 4 features and target audience

The Osmo Pocket 4 retains the compact size and three-axis mechanical stabilization that made the previous model popular. It is aimed at vloggers, content creators, journalists, and travelers who want professional-grade camera features in a portable device. The camera also supports 4K@240 fps slow motion, which is suitable for professional use.

Technical specifications and pricing

The Osmo Pocket 4 includes 107 GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 1 TB. It features USB 3.1 with a transfer speed of 800 MB/s and has a battery life of one and a half days of continuous filming. During AliExpress’s 11.11 event, the camera is available for 299.21 euros with a promo code, offering a 200 euro discount from the regular price of 499.99 euros.

Improvements over Osmo Pocket 3

The Osmo Pocket 4 improves on the previous model by doubling the slow motion capability from 120 to 240 fps. It also adds more storage options, faster data transfer, and additional physical buttons. The photo resolution has been significantly upgraded from 9.4 Mp to 37 Mp, and the screen brightness has increased to 1000 nits. Battery life has also been extended from 166 to 240 minutes.

Camera sensor and features

The Osmo Pocket 4 uses the same 1-inch CMOS sensor with an f/2.0 aperture but now offers 14 stops of dynamic range for better performance in high-contrast situations. It includes three-axis mechanical stabilization, which is more effective than digital stabilization, and three tracking modes for different types of camera movements. The device also has a 2-inch OLED screen with touch controls for easy recording.

Audio and durability considerations

The Osmo Pocket 4 has three built-in microphones that can record up to four audio channels and is compatible with DJI’s external microphones. However, it is not waterproof and is not suitable for use in rain or dusty conditions, making it less appropriate as an action camera.
