A popular supermarket, Tesco, is updating its in-store bakery range with a variety of new autumn-inspired treats, offering customers more options beyond the well-known bakeries of Lidl and M&S. These new items are set to arrive in September and include both familiar and unique flavors, aiming to attract those looking for something new or indulgent. Among the highlights is the Chocolate & Hazelnut Tear & Share, priced at £3.50, which features a soft dough filled with chocolate and hazelnut. The Rolled & Loaded Cinnamon Buns (£2.25) are also making their debut, inspired by viral recipes from other bakeries. These buns are generously filled and topped with rich icing, including cream cheese for the cinnamon and cheesecake versions, and caramel sauce for the caramel and chocolate buns. Other additions include Blueberry Cheesecake Buns and Butterscotch & Pecan Buns, which feature a brioche base with sweet fillings and crunchy toppings. Tesco is also introducing two new bread loaves: the Finest Chocolate and Hazelnut Sourdough (£3.75), which includes dark and milk chocolate with roasted hazelnuts, and the Finest Olive Ciabatta (£1.50 for a 2-pack or loose), baked with green and black olives and a light flour dusting. Both loaves are designed to offer rich flavors and satisfying textures. This expansion comes as other major retailers, like M&S, are also updating their bakery selections. M&S has introduced new items, including a sausage roll made with RSPCA-assured British pork and all-butter puff pastry, priced at £2.25. Other additions include bread sticks, a Spinach & Feta Roll, a Tomato & Cheddar Knot, and an 'Nduja & Ricotta Swirl', further diversifying the in-store bakery experience.
