Major UK supermarkets have started unveiling their Christmas food menus for 2026, with Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons already showcasing a wide array of festive dishes. These menus aim to cater to a variety of tastes, from traditional holiday fare to more modern and gourmet options. Tesco, for example, is offering unique items like arancini sticks with chorizo and cornichon, while Morrisons is introducing a large pigs in blankets dish, and Sainsbury’s has created a dessert called “driving home this Christmas,” which features a chocolate mousse with a hidden brownie salted caramel center. Sainsbury’s Christmas lineup includes a range of both casual and refined options. Alongside the pigs in blanket wreath and coronation chicken croquettes with mango chutney, the supermarket is also serving king prawn and scallop gratins, as well as decadent lobster tails with garlic butter. For the main course, they offer a turkey crown with a stuffing made of pork, chestnuts, mulled cider, and apples, and a fish option featuring crisp Hebridean salmon and Scottish langoustine en croute. Vegetarian options include a vegan no turkey crown with a bacon lattice. Tesco’s menu also offers a mix of traditional and innovative dishes. Their party food includes nduja pigs in blankets with hot honey sauce, dirty martini olives, king prawn lollipops, and veggie spring rolls. Main dishes feature an East Anglian gold free-range turkey, salt-aged pork loin, Scottish roe venison leg, and a maple-roasted winter vegetable wellington for vegetarians. Desserts range from a Belgian chocolate and berry délice to a gluten-free caramelized white chocolate and speculoos cake. Morrisons has expanded its Christmas range with 290 new dishes, including Scottish salmon terrine, potato wild garlic and camembert melt, and a ready-to-serve deli charcuterie grazing platter. Main dishes include a turkey breast joint stuffed with pork, spiced apples, and smoked chestnut stuffing, as well as a two-bone beef rib, a rack of pork, and a lamb rump. Vegetarian options include a roasted vegetable and balsamic onion tart, while desserts feature a chocolate orange star, sticky toffee pudding trifle, and a triple chocolate snowman dessert.
