Ten road safety meetings planned

Ten road safety meetings are planned from November 3 to November 26 in Rennes and three surrounding communes for cyclists and scooter riders. The events aim to improve visibility and safety during darker winter travel times and will include free equipment checks and distribution of visibility gear.

Campaign focuses on winter travel

The "Cyclists, shine!" campaign follows the switch to winter time, when morning and evening commutes often occur in the dark. The initiative seeks to help riders prepare for these conditions with proper lighting and reflective equipment.

Events to take place in multiple locations

Seven events will be held in Rennes, with three more in Chartres-de-Bretagne, Bruz, and Betton. The first meeting is scheduled for November 3 at Place de Bretagne, with additional events planned throughout the month at various locations across the city and surrounding areas.

Meetings at convenient times

Some meetings will occur during morning rush hours, such as the event on November 4 at Place Saint-Germain from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Other sessions will be held in the evenings, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., to accommodate different commuter schedules and ensure visibility is addressed during typical travel times.

Campaign includes equipment checks and advice

At each event, organizers will provide free visibility equipment, check riders’ gear, and offer advice on proper lighting and reflective elements. The goal is to help cyclists and scooter users ensure their equipment functions correctly and meets safety standards.

Campaign spans multiple communes

The campaign will extend beyond Rennes, with events in Chartres-de-Bretagne, Bruz, and Betton. The final event is scheduled for November 26 in Betton, marking the end of a three-week initiative across Rennes and its surrounding areas.
