ANTHBOT introduced its latest robotic lawnmower, the R7, at IFA 2026 in Berlin. This model addresses one of the remaining challenges in robotic lawn care: edge trimming. Most robotic mowers still leave a strip of uncut grass along garden edges, requiring manual finishing with an edger. The R7, however, features a robotic articulated arm called EdgeEase, allowing it to trim right along the garden’s borders without any need for human intervention.
Designed for versatility, the R7 can handle difficult terrain. It uses a six-motor full-time drive system, enabling it to climb slopes up to 40 degrees and navigate over vertical obstacles as high as 7 centimeters. This makes it suitable for gardens with uneven ground or obstacles like rocks and curbs.
The navigation system of the R7 is advanced, combining HoloSense Fusion technology with dual LiDAR sensors, PPP-RTK positioning, and AI vision. This setup allows the mower to accurately map and navigate complex environments, even in low light or when visibility is limited. Additionally, the R7 includes infrared thermal detection to identify small animals, like hedgehogs, hiding in tall grass, helping to prevent accidental harm.
The R7 is capable of mowing up to 4,000 square meters per day and can operate for up to 600 square meters on a single charge, with a quick 60-minute recharge time. It also features voice control, temperature, and humidity sensors for optimal performance in various weather conditions. Visitors can see the R7 in action at IFA Berlin 2026, from September 4 to 8, in Hall 11.1, stand 117.
