Extension nearing completion

The extension of the B line of the Toulouse metro is set to open in September 2027, adding two new stations in Ramonville and Labège. According to a progress report from Tisséo on October 16, the main construction and rail work for the extension are complete, with rails and guiding bars laid across the entire route.

Partial closure during construction

The B line was partially closed throughout August, from Saint-Michel-Marcel-Langer to Ramonville, to allow for the installation of the final rails and the connection of the existing line to the extension. This closure enabled the completion of critical infrastructure work.

Ramonville station nearing finish

At Ramonville, the Parc du Canal station is nearly complete, with tiling, guardrails, and platform doors almost finished. Tisséo reported that waterproofing work is close to completion, marking the end of major construction, while secondary work and station equipment installation are set to begin soon.

Continued work on transport systems

Installation of the transport systems, including signaling and power infrastructure, will continue until the end of 2026. After that, integration and testing phases will begin, with a trial run planned for the summer of 2027 before the official opening.

New stations and their locations

The extension will cover 2.7 kilometers, extending the B line from its current terminus in Ramonville to Labège. The two new stations—Parc du Canal and Labège Madron—are scheduled to open in September 2027. Parc du Canal will serve the Bikini area and include bike parking nearby.

Economic impact and future connections

Labège Madron station will serve the Labège 2 shopping center, the Toulouse INP campus, and the future Enova district. It will also allow transfers to the C line of the metro, though that part of the station will open only when the C line begins service. The project, costing nearly 250 million euros, is expected to bring about 14,000 daily passengers and improve access to key economic and academic areas in southeast Toulouse.
