The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, launched in late July 2026, brings several upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. These include a new Exynos 2600 processor, a more compact design, a better external screen, a battery made from silicon-carbon material, and improved wireless charging capabilities. The phone starts at 1,299 euros, but a discount on Amazon brings the price down to 919 euros. This makes it more accessible for consumers looking for a high-end foldable phone with a premium feel. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 features a 6.9-inch "fluid" display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, offering smoother scrolling and video playback. The external screen, called FlexWindow, is now fully compatible with all apps and measures 4.1 inches diagonally, with a resolution of 1,048 x 948 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. This improvement makes the external screen more versatile for tasks like checking messages or navigating apps without fully unfolding the phone. Inside the device, the Exynos 2600 processor is paired with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, offering strong performance for most tasks. However, under heavy use—like gaming or multitasking—the phone may throttle its performance by up to 60 percent to manage heat and power consumption. The camera setup remains unchanged from the Galaxy Z Flip 7, with a 50 MP main wide-angle lens and a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, but it does not include an optical zoom feature. The battery capacity stays at 4,300 mAh, but it now uses silicon-carbon technology, which is known for better conductivity and efficiency. However, testing showed no significant increase in battery life compared to previous models. The phone supports 25 W wired charging, 15 W wireless charging, and reverse charging, which allows users to charge other devices using their phone's battery. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is also thinner and lighter than its predecessor, measuring just 6.1 mm in thickness and weighing 180 grams, making it more comfortable to carry and use.
