American bike manufacturer Trek has updated its line of urban electric bicycles with the new Inbound+ series. Available in three models—Inbound+ 2 R10, Inbound+ 2 B SO, and Inbound+ 2 R8—each version offers both open and closed-frame options. All three share a common base, including an aluminum frame with integrated cables, a rigid fork, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, and the Bosch Hub Line motor, which delivers 45 Nm of torque and a maximum power of 400 watts. Standard equipment includes LED lights, fenders, a kickstand, and a MIK HD compatible rack. All models are equipped with the Bosch Purion 200 onboard computer and are available in sizes ranging from S to XL, depending on the model. The main differences between the three models lie in their drivetrains. The Inbound+ 2 R8, priced at 1,999 euros, features a traditional Shimano ESSA U2000 drivetrain with eight speeds and an 11-45 tooth cassette. It weighs 19.40 kg without the battery. The Inbound+ 2 B SO, priced at 2,149 euros, uses a single-speed Gates Sidetrack belt drive, making it the lightest model at 18.60 kg. It also has a maximum load capacity of 136 kg and comes with Bontrager E6 Heavy Duty tires designed for urban environments. The other two models are equipped with Bontrager Girona Comp tires that include puncture protection. The top-tier model, the Inbound+ 2 R10, priced at 2,499 euros, features a 10-speed Shimano CUES U6000 GS drivetrain with an 11-48 tooth cassette. This drivetrain uses Shimano's LinkGlide technology, known for its smooth shifting and durability, which is particularly useful when climbing hills. Unlike the other two models, the Inbound+ 2 R10 comes with a larger 600 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, while the more affordable models use a 360 Wh battery. Trek has not provided specific range figures, but the 360 Wh battery is said to offer over 80 km of range in Eco mode. The R10, with its larger battery, is expected to go further than that. These electric bicycles are now available on Trek’s official website and through the French Trek dealer network. The Inbound+ series aims to provide urban riders with a range of options tailored to different needs, from lightweight, single-speed models to more powerful, multi-speed versions designed for varied terrain.
