BMW is updating its Neue Klasse electric vehicle lineup with new features and a new variant of the iX3 model. The iX3 40 xDrive has been added to the range, offering a full-time four-wheel drive system combined with the same 82.6 kWh battery as the iX3 40. This new version provides more power, with an output of 275 kW (374 hp), an increase of 40 kW (54 hp) over the two-wheel drive version. However, the driving range for the iX3 40 xDrive is slightly reduced, with a homologation range of 551 to 621 km depending on the selected features. In comparison, the two-wheel drive version of the iX3 40 has a range of 570 to 645 km under similar conditions. The iX3 40 xDrive maintains the same charging capacity as the other models, with a peak charging rate of 300 kW. This allows the vehicle to charge from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes, a feature that remains unchanged. The iX3 40 xDrive is priced 2,500 euros higher than its two-wheel drive counterpart and starts at 68,550 euros in France. These updates are part of a broader set of improvements across the entire iX3 range. Several small design and feature changes are now available for all iX3 models. These include a new metallic white paint option and glossy black roof rails. Additional equipment features include an accessory adapter at the back of the front seats, a wireless phone charger, new seat adjustment controls with integrated lighting on the door panels, and an enhanced infotainment system. The infotainment system now includes the Amazon Prime Video application and BMW Maps, which combines navigation data with driving assistance features into a single view. These updates aim to improve both the functionality and the user experience of the iX3, making it more competitive in the growing electric vehicle market.
