Adobe has launched Premiere Mobile, a new smartphone application designed for creating and editing videos on mobile devices. The app is now available on Android, more than a year after its initial release on iOS. It remains free to use, but certain AI-powered features require in-app purchases. The app is aimed at content creators who want to edit videos on the go, offering tools that were once only available on desktop software. Premiere Mobile allows users to perform core editing tasks such as splitting, trimming, and merging video clips, adjusting playback speed, and adding text, effects, and audio layers like voiceovers. The app supports multi-track editing, which means users can overlay multiple video clips, music tracks, and voiceovers with precise control at the frame level. It also includes improved voice clarity features, making it easier to enhance spoken content in videos. Users can export an unlimited number of 4K videos without watermarks, and the app adapts to foldable smartphones for a more flexible editing experience. To use the app, Android users need a device running at least Android 13 with a minimum of 5 GB of RAM. Additional features powered by AI, such as generating sound effects and using AI-created assets from Adobe Firefly, require purchasing credits through in-app purchases. The app also offers cloud storage options that can be bought directly within the app, providing more flexibility for users who need extra space for their projects. Adobe has partnered with YouTube to integrate ready-to-use Shorts templates, effects, and transitions into the app. This allows users to create content that’s optimized for YouTube’s popular short-form video format. They can customize these templates in the multi-track editor and publish directly to the platform. Adobe plans to add more features in the future, including Adobe Fonts, improved captioning, and better integration with the desktop version of Premiere Pro. The app is now available for download on the Google Play Store.
