Film project gains momentum

The film adaptation of Bloodborne is showing signs of progress, according to its producer, YouTuber Jacksepticeye. The project was announced this year and has reportedly moved forward with the establishment of a solid story, a screenwriter, and a director. The adaptation is intended to tell an entirely original story within the Bloodborne universe.

Key details remain undisclosed

Jacksepticeye mentioned in a recent interview with IGN that the project has progressed significantly since its initial announcement, with the story direction clearly defined and key personnel assembled. He expressed hope for future announcements regarding the people involved and the project's direction, as well as details about the plot and progress. However, the identities of the screenwriter and director have not yet been revealed.

Announced at CinemaCon 2026

The animated film adaptation was first mentioned at CinemaCon 2026, where fans learned of its existence despite a lack of concrete news about the game itself. While The Duskbloods, FromSoftware's next game, has been delayed to 2027, the Bloodborne film is currently the most active project related to the franchise.

No new games in the works

Fans have long been waiting for updates on Bloodborne, including a 60 fps patch for PS5, a remaster or remake, or a sequel. However, Sony, the rights holder of the license, has not announced any new video game projects related to Bloodborne, and FromSoftware has been focusing on its own projects. As a result, the film adaptation may arrive before any potential remaster or patch for the original game.
