Mayotte's REPEMA celebrates National Breastfeeding Week with social media campaigns and community workshops to promote breastfeeding awareness and education.
National Breastfeeding Week focus
On the occasion of the National Breastfeeding Week, which will take place from October 12 to 17, 2026, the Mayotte Perinatal Network (REPEMA) reaffirms its commitment to information and awareness around breastfeeding.Public campaign on social media
Throughout this week, REPEMA is implementing a public communication campaign on social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) in order to raise awareness among the population about breastfeeding and reach as many people as possible. This campaign continues the work of the World Breastfeeding Week in August.Campaign content and goals
The program includes videos dedicated to breastfeeding, illustrations, and informational content intended to answer questions, challenge certain misconceptions, and better promote the benefits of breastfeeding, both for the child and the mother. The messages remain the same and the objective remains that of accessible information for all.Year-round prevention and awareness
Beyond this week of mobilization, REPEMA continues its prevention and awareness efforts throughout the year. Contraception, sexual and reproductive health, as well as supporting families during the perinatal period are among the topics addressed through various initiatives.Community engagement and outreach
Awareness workshops and DITE TSITSI, organized within the postpartum journey supported by REPEMA and backed by the Mayotte Regional Health Agency, allow for outreach to the public, encourage exchanges, and provide information tailored to the needs of families. Through these field actions and digital campaigns, REPEMA aims to contribute to better information for the Mayotte population and encourage everyone to seek information from health professionals.
