Ceer, Saudi Arabia's new national electric vehicle brand, has unveiled two high-end electric models called the Exobot—a sedan and an SUV. The brand is the result of a partnership between the country's Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Foxconn, a major Taiwanese electronics manufacturer. These vehicles are not aimed at the domestic market but are intended to showcase the brand's design and engineering capabilities. The designs draw inspiration from legendary Italian design studios such as Bertone and Italdesign, with the sedan resembling the 2008 Quaranta Concept and elements from the Nuccio Concept and Stratos Zero.
The Exobot models feature a striking design, with a long, straight silhouette up to the top of the windshield, which is pushed back to the rear. The windshield is 2.4 meters long and tilted at 15 degrees, and the cars include a large amount of glass on the sides. The glass has a special silver treatment to help reflect heat, as part of a cooling system called Halo Cooling. This system uses various technologies to manage heat, though specific aerodynamic performance data has not yet been released. The sedan is 5.26 meters long and 1.43 meters high, placing it in the limousine category, while the SUV is 5.02 meters long, 1.69 meters high, and 2.1 meters wide.
Inside, the Exobot models offer a futuristic cabin with a large digital panel stretching from one pillar to the other. The panel is said to be 48 inches in size and capable of 8K resolution. A central panel allows for quick access to controls, though the driving position still includes some traditional buttons on the central console or a Yoke-style steering wheel. The cabin can cool from 65 to 32 degrees Celsius in just 10 minutes. The cars feature by-wire steering, adaptive pneumatic suspensions, and rear steering wheels. Special driving modes include a Drift mode and an Off-Road mode for the SUV. The vehicles are powered by three electric motors, with a front motor from Hyundai Transys and a pair of rear motors from Rimac. The Exobot is expected to deliver a maximum power of 850 horsepower and reach 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds for the sedan and 2.9 seconds for the SUV.
The Exobot models are equipped with an 112 kWh battery operating at 800 volts, though it is unclear if this is a net or gross capacity. They can be charged using an 11 kW AC charger or a 250 kW DC system, with a 10-80% charge taking less than 30 minutes. The manufacturer estimates a range of 670 km for the sedan and 560 km for the SUV on the NEDC cycle, which translates to about 540 and 450 km on the more realistic WLTP cycle. Production for the Exobot Sedan and SUV is set to begin in January 2027, with deliveries starting in March 2027. Over the next five years, Ceer plans to launch seven models, starting with the Exobot as a showcase. The brand initially plans to focus on the Saudi Arabian and Gulf markets, though future models will be developed for international markets. The brand also plans to offer hybrid and extended-range electric options in the future if the market demands it.
