A 28-year-old woman named Zhane House was remembered by her neighbors and friends in southeast London as a kind and friendly person who was well-liked in the community. She was found unresponsive on the ground outside her apartment block in Lewisham last month after falling from a fourth-floor balcony. Her father, Michael, is still grieving the loss of his daughter, who had a six-year-old daughter living with him. Zhane’s death came just months after her mother passed away in 2017, adding to the emotional toll on the family. Neighbors on Conington Road were shocked by the news of her death. Police were called to the scene at 6:15 a.m. on August 5. A worker on the estate said Zhane was well-known in the area, often seen in the local supermarket, and described as very friendly and good with children. However, the circumstances surrounding her fall remain unclear. Days after her death, a man was found in her flat, and neighbors said the interaction was strange and confusing. Zhane’s death has left the community in disbelief. One neighbor said she seemed to have personal struggles but was generally seen as a lovely woman. The police have arrested a man in connection with the incident, but he has been released on bail. Authorities are treating the death as "unexplained" and are continuing their investigation. An inquest into her death will be held at a later date, with results from a post-mortem to be revealed then. Zhane’s father, a builder, has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral costs. In a message on the page, he described the sudden loss as devastating, especially after losing his wife nearly a decade earlier. He said the tragedy turned his world upside down, emphasizing the deep grief he feels for both his daughter and his late wife. The community continues to reflect on Zhane’s life and the mystery surrounding her death.
