Preorders open for GTA 6

Preorders for GTA 6, the next installment in the popular Grand Theft Auto series, have been available since June 25. The game is set to release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X consoles.

Digital format only for GTA 6

The game will be available exclusively in digital format, with physical copies containing only a download code. These codes will begin shipping on November 12, 2026, allowing players to preload the game before its official release.

Console options and storage needs*

Reports suggest that GTA 6 will not be available on PC or Nintendo Switch. The game is expected to require between 150 to 200 gigabytes of storage, with an additional 30 to 50 gigabytes for a day-one patch. The PlayStation 5 Pro is recommended for high graphical performance, while the Xbox Series S is seen as a more affordable option.

Pricing and preorder deals*

In France, the standard edition of GTA 6 is priced at 79.99 euros, with the Ultimate edition at 99.99 euros. Some retailers offer the game for around 60 euros, but availability and pricing can vary by platform and seller.

Preorder payment reminders*

E.Leclerc, a French retailer, informed customers who preordered the game that their credit cards would be charged soon. The retailer also advised customers to check their account balances to avoid any issues.

New trailer and awards eligibility*

Rockstar Games released a new trailer on October 15, focusing on characters Jason and Lucia. This follows a 26-minute presentation shown on Netflix in August. Despite its late release, GTA 6 is expected to be eligible for the Game Awards 2026.
