Circana's PlayerPulse tool, which tracks purchase intent among gamers, reported that GTA 6 could become one of the biggest entertainment releases in history. The firm noted that the game is expected to boost console sales during the holiday season, with retailers already preparing for high demand.

GTA V's lasting impact

GTA V remains the best-selling premium title in American history by Circana, both in terms of units sold and revenue. It has been in the top 20 of American sales every year from 2013 to 2025 and was still third in active players on PlayStation and Xbox last year, thirteen years after its release.

GTA 5's success in France

In France, GTA 5 has sold over 6 million copies, making it one of the country's most profitable cultural products. Its first week of release set a record with 1.1 million sales in France, and it has remained in the top 10 of annual best sellers almost every year since.
