Update details have been leaked
The 2.5 update for Cyberpunk 2077 has been revealed through leaks, showing that the game will get new features, especially for console players. The update was officially announced alongside the release of Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2, with a planned release date of October 22, 2026, and more details were expected in a livestream on October 21.New quests tie to the animated series
The update will add two new side quests: one set before Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 begins, and another that sends players to a "mysterious tower in Night City." These quests are likely to provide in-game items related to characters from the second season of the Netflix series, which has just become available.Customization options expand
Players will be able to customize their arm and hand implants using "Glamdocs," a new feature. Additionally, both male and female versions of the main character, V, will receive new clothing sets and hairstyles, giving players more ways to personalize their avatar.Mod support arrives for consoles
A major highlight of the update is the introduction of mod support for console versions of Cyberpunk 2077, a feature that has been long awaited. This follows The Witcher 3 Remaster, which added mod support last year through the mod.io platform, allowing players to enhance their gaming experience with user-created content.Additional features and improvements
Other additions include new radio stations playing music from the Cyberpunk Edgerunners series, a new skill that lets players use two pistols or revolvers at the same time, an updated photo mode, and improved save file management. Console players will also get a field of view (FOV) slider, along with various bug fixes to improve gameplay.
