Apple plans two October events for new products, including updated Macs, iPads, and a home automation showcase, marking a busy end to 2026.
Apple hosts two October events
Apple is planning two separate events in October to unveil new products. The first, titled Welcome Home, will take place today and focus on home automation and connected home devices. A second event, scheduled for October 27 and 28 in Los Angeles, will feature new Macs and an iPad.Events differ from traditional formats
Unlike Apple’s usual product launches, these events will not be broadcast live. Instead, Apple will host exclusive experiences for content creators and the press over two days. This approach was first tested with the Welcome Home event.New products include advanced MacBooks
New MacBooks will include 14-inch and 16-inch models with OLED touchscreens, Dynamic Island, and M5 Pro / M5 Max chips. These models will also feature C1X or C2 modems for native cellular connectivity and a lighter design.New iMac and MacBook Pro models
A new iMac will keep the 24-inch design but add new colors and the M6 chip. A new 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M6 chip will retain the current chassis. These models aim to update Apple’s laptop lineup with improved performance and features.iPad mini and Mac Studio upgrades
The new iPad mini (8th generation) will have an OLED screen, A20 Pro chip, landscape-oriented front camera, improved speakers, and water resistance. Apple may also launch a 512 GB version of the Mac Studio, currently limited to 256 GB of unified memory.Apple’s busy October schedule
This product wave is expected to be the last planned for 2026. October will also see the start of deliveries for the iPhone Duo on October 30, marking a particularly active period for Apple.
