New camping trailer for motorcycles

Sidewinder Sidecar Campers, a young American brand founded in 2025, has launched the Mojave, a sidecar camping trailer designed to transform a large motorcycle into a mini camping trailer for two.

Mojave's design and specifications

The Mojave is the largest version of Sidewinder's range, intended for long motorcycle road trips. It is not a trailer but a module fixed laterally to the motorcycle frame, with its own rigid shell and steel chassis. The Mojave weighs approximately 250 kg empty and is designed for coupled motorcycles with engines of about 1,000 cm³ or more.

Interior features and comfort

Inside, the Mojave offers a modular mattress system that can be combined to form a bed of about 110 cm wide by 200 cm long. The space is compact but sufficient for two adults, with lighting, integrated glass openings, and a small light well. The walls are insulated, and the module can be equipped with roof heating, air conditioning, and hot water production. The Mojave also includes storage compartments and lockers for camping equipment and clothing.

Exterior features and amenities

Outside, the Mojave features a small rear kitchen in teardrop style, with a worktop, sink, storage, and a sliding-mounted refrigerator. A stove can be added as an option, and the open hatch forms a canopy for meal preparation. The module can also receive a side awning to create a sheltered dining area next to the motorcycle. The Mojave can be equipped with a battery that can reach up to approximately 300 Ah, potentially powered by solar panels placed on the roof. Additional features include a fixed external shower, portable toilets, and a roof air conditioning unit.

Mojave's travel capabilities and size

The Mojave is designed for long-distance travel, offering more interior volume, storage, and the possibility of integrating more equipment than other models in the range. The objective is to allow staying on the road as desired, offering an unprecedented level of comfort for a motorcycle hitch. The dimensions of the Mojave are approximately 2.74 m in length, 1.22 m in width, and 1.52 m in height, with about 1 cubic meter of storage. The Sidewinder website does not provide a public price for the Mojave and invites interested parties to request a quote.
