Leadership change at France Messagerie

Jean-Luc Breysse has been appointed president of France Messagerie, a company that delivers newspapers across France. He replaces Louis Dreyfus, whose term was set to end by the end of the year and could not be extended due to legal restrictions.

Dreyfus remains involved

Louis Dreyfus, who founded France Messagerie in 2020, will remain on the board of the Coopérative de Distribution des Quotidiens (CDQ), the organization that owns 100% of France Messagerie. He will also stay on the strategic committee that guides the company’s direction.

Breysse’s responsibilities

In his new role, Breysse will help implement France Messagerie’s long-term plan and adjust its operations to reflect changes in how newspapers are distributed. Eric Matton will continue as the company’s general manager, and his role has been extended by the strategic committee.

Strategic committee updated

The CDQ board of directors has renewed the terms of several members of France Messagerie’s strategic committee. These include Michèle Benbunan, Louis Dreyfus, and Rolf Heinz, who represent daily newspapers, as well as Michel Fender, an independent member. Justine Bachette-Peyrade and François Morinière, who represent magazine publishers, and Frédéric Lechevalier, who represents a publishing company, will continue their roles alongside Breysse.

Breysse’s background

Jean-Luc Breysse studied at HEC and Stanford University. He has worked in auditing and held several financial roles at Les Echos, including financial controller and director. He later became general director of Emap France and later Mondadori France, and eventually led several publishing divisions under Mondadori.
