BGE Mayotte highlights entrepreneurs through portraits

BGE Mayotte has started an initiative to showcase portraits of business leaders who are part of a program aimed at helping them grow their businesses. The goal is to give visibility to entrepreneurs through media such as interviews, reports, and broadcasts in local outlets.

Program supports small business leaders

The initiative includes the Croissance TPE accelerator, launched last year, which supports 15 business leaders looking to develop their companies. To qualify, businesses must be registered, have operated for more than three years, and have a turnover under about 100,000 euros.

Entrepreneurs face financial and market challenges

Businesses in the region encounter various difficulties, such as weak cash flow, trouble finding markets, and delayed payments. Access to markets is also a problem, as some entrepreneurs struggle to identify tenders or position themselves to secure contracts.

BGE Mayotte promotes regular media coverage

To address these issues, BGE Mayotte has asked local media to regularly feature these entrepreneurs, either every fifteen days or once a month, depending on the media outlets' capacity. Formats like portraits, interviews, reports, and videos are being considered to highlight their work, journey, and goals.

Entrepreneurs may hesitate to seek help

Sonia Anli noted that some entrepreneurs are reluctant to seek support, often fearing it might cost them or thinking they should handle things on their own. BGE Mayotte does not guarantee funding for every project but focuses on listening, identifying obstacles, and guiding entrepreneurs toward the right solutions. The program's results will be evaluated by December 31.
