On Friday, October 2, the official launch of the Woman and Resilience program took place, led by the Worldwide Platform of Women Entrepreneurs of Mayotte (PLAMFE Mayotte). The initiative aims to continue PLAMFE Mayotte's commitment to the development of women's entrepreneurship and the economic empowerment of women on the territory. The event had several objectives: to present the program to institutional actors, to raise awareness of PLAMFE Mayotte among the general public, and to allow women entrepreneurs to learn more about the association and its opportunities. This launch was also a moment for networking and exchange, allowing entrepreneurs to create new links and identify potential collaborations. According to Léonelle REDJEKRA, president of PLAMFE Mayotte, this was the first official presentation of the association since its creation, open to the general public, women entrepreneurs, and institutional actors. She stated that the goal was to open access to more women and help them understand how to join the association. The event aimed to strengthen ties with institutional actors and raise their awareness of issues related to women's entrepreneurship, particularly in terms of financing and support. REDJEKRA noted that the meeting allowed them to present their actions more precisely, highlight the impact of PLAMFE, and increase the association's visibility. Several institutions were present to support the launch, including the city hall of Mamoudzou, the Departmental Council of Mayotte, and the prefecture. The mayor of Mamoudzou emphasized the importance of supporting women entrepreneurs and highlighted the city's five-year tradition of organizing the Evening of Female Excellence, an event aimed at recognizing women's contributions in various fields. The city also seeks to support women who wish to develop their activities beyond Mayotte through partnership agreements. Anliati Attoumani, vice-president in charge of communication and partnerships of PLAMFE Mayotte and owner of the Hibiscus Café culture restaurant, noted that one out of two companies in Mayotte is created by a woman, and many new companies are emerging every day. However, some women lack the tools to ensure the sustainability of their companies. To address this, BGE, a national associative network supporting company creation and development in France, offers workshops, training, and coaching to help women entrepreneurs build their skills and manage their businesses effectively. The support aims to help them not only create their companies but also ensure their long-term success.
