CD Projekt RED, the Polish video game developer behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has announced upcoming updates for its remastered version of the popular action RPG. The updates are aimed at improving performance, refining visuals, and expanding localization options. These changes are part of the company's ongoing effort to enhance the player experience, especially on newer consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Players have reported several technical issues on PS5 consoles, including performance bugs, frame rate drops, stutters, and crashes. The next update will focus on optimizing the game's performance on both the PS5 base model and the more powerful PS5 Pro. It will also refine how the game renders its visuals, aiming to provide a smoother and more consistent experience.
In addition to performance and visual improvements, the update will address specific features like Twitch Drops, which allows players to earn in-game items by watching streams. It will also fix a dubbing issue on consoles and expand the Ukrainian language support to more regions on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. CD Projekt RED is also working with mod.io, a platform for user-created game modifications, to bring more mods to all platforms, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which previously had limited mod support. Over 450 mods are already available for the remastered version.
While no specific release date has been given for the next update, CD Projekt RED has encouraged players to report any issues they encounter through its support site. The studio has already released two small patches since the remastered version launched on September 29, 2026, with one of them addressing lighting management. Five additional patches are currently in development, with the upcoming update focusing on performance and visual improvements.
