Nintendo president Devon Pritchard recently shared insights into the company’s current projects, including third-party games now available on the Switch 2. These include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, among others. The Switch 2 is more powerful than its predecessor and can run high-end titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 and a remastered version of The Witcher 3. Some fans are wondering if GTA 6 could also be ported to the console. Pritchard said the decision would be made by Take-Two and Rockstar Games, but no official announcement has been made at this time. Rockstar Games has previously released several titles on the Switch, including Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, and L.A. Noire. However, there have been no official announcements about bringing Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA 6 to the platform. There is also speculation that Manhunt, a game known for its unique and intense gameplay, could be ported to the Switch 2, given the console’s motion control features that might enhance the experience. Pritchard highlighted that Nintendo aims to appeal to players of all ages, from 5 to 95, and offers a wide range of gaming experiences on its consoles. The remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is set to release on November 5, just two weeks before GTA 6. This close timing has drawn comparisons to the "Barbenheimer of video games" in a recent Saturday Night Live sketch, referencing the simultaneous release of Barbie and Oppenheimer in the film industry. The release of these two major titles is expected to mark the end of a strong year for video games. Other notable games released this year include Big Walk, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, 007: First Light, and Fire Emblem: Fortune's Wave. Developers have increasingly demonstrated the capabilities of current hardware, and Rockstar is seen as needing to prove its talent by potentially bringing GTA 6 to the Switch 2.
