Scott unveils new electric city bike

Scott, a Swiss brand primarily known for its mountain bikes and road bikes, presented on October 15 the E-Ville, a new electric city bike expected for the 2027 season.

E-Ville features low frame and suspension

This is a model with a low frame that is easier to straddle, with front and rear suspension. Scott offers two versions: the E-Ville 20, designed for pavement, and the E-Ville 10 SUV, better equipped for all-terrain.

Bosch motor and torque capabilities

Both bikes share the same pedal motor, the Bosch Performance Line CX, which Scott has placed as low as possible in the frame. Scott announces 100 Nm of torque on the E-Ville.

Software update and battery differences

Since May 2026, the free software update Performance Upgrade 2.0 from Bosch allows this motor to be pushed up to 120 Nm, but Scott does not state whether the E-Ville is eligible for this. The SUV version gains 80 Wh and 20 mm of suspension travel on the battery side.

Battery capacity and charging

The E-Ville 20 has a 720 Wh battery, while the E-Ville 10 SUV has an 800 Wh battery, which is approximately 11% more capacity. In both cases, the Bosch PowerTube battery is extracted from the side of the frame, which allows it to be charged at home or at the office.

Range extender compatibility

For long trips, Scott also announces compatibility with the Bosch PowerMore 250 range extender. At the front, the urban version receives an SR Suntour XCM34 fork with 100 mm of travel.

Suspension and transmission differences

The SUV version is equipped with a RockShox Recon Silver RL with 120 mm of travel, more suitable for roots and rocks. The choice of transmission follows the same logic, with a 10-speed Shimano Cues on the E-Ville 20 and an 11-speed Shimano Cues on the E-Ville 10 SUV.

Tires and displays

The Schwalbe tires, wide at 60 mm, also vary by version. The E-Ville 20 has Big Apple Performance tires with an urban profile, while the E-Ville 10 SUV receives Hybrid Advancer tires better suited for trails. At the handlebars, the E-Ville 20 uses the Bosch Purion 200 display.

Display and equipment differences

The E-Ville 10 SUV prefers the new compact LED control from Bosch paired with a Kiox 300 display. A very equipped bike, but weighing more than 31 kg. The rest of the equipment is common to both models.

Braking and adjustable seat post

The Shimano MT4120 disc brakes use four-piston calipers and 180 mm discs in front and rear. The telescopic seat post can be adjusted in height by pressing a button on the handlebar, which helps to put both feet on the ground at a red light.

Additional features and design note

Scott also delivers from the factory mudguards, a kickstand, integrated lighting, a Racktime rack, and a SP Connect phone mount. The German website Notebookcheck, however, notes the absence of a real chain guard, a deficiency on a bike designed for daily commutes. On the E-Ville 10 SUV, Scott uses only a plate guard.

Weight and load capacity

All this equipment is reflected in the weight, with 31.3 kg announced for the E-Ville 20 and 31.16 kg for the E-Ville 10 SUV. The frame still accepts a total weight of 160 kg, including the bike, which leaves about 129 kg for the cyclist and their luggage, with a maximum of 20 kg on the rack.

Pricing and availability

Scott lists the E-Ville 10 SUV at 5,299 euros on its French store, with the note "available soon" and without a specific date. The E-Ville 20 is announced at 4,499 euros.
