Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics company known for its smartphones and smart home devices, has launched the Mijia Front Load Washer 7kg in France at a price of 349.00 €. This compact, front-loading washer is designed for smaller spaces and is part of Xiaomi’s growing presence in the French market for large household appliances. The company has previously introduced other appliances such as a side-by-side refrigerator and a washing machine with a drying function, showing its commitment to expanding its product range in Europe. The Mijia WM070MJA07EU model stands out with a depth of 45 cm, making it ideal for homes with limited space, as standard washing machines typically require at least 60 cm of depth. However, this compact size limits the maximum laundry capacity to 7 kg due to the smaller drum. The drum has a diameter of 52 cm and is powered by a Direct Drive motor, which can spin up to 1200 revolutions per minute. While many washing machines can reach higher speeds, the Direct Drive motor is known for being more energy-efficient, durable, and quieter than traditional belt-driven motors. The washer includes several smart features, such as automatic load detection, which adjusts the water volume and washing time based on the weight of the laundry. This technology is already common in many modern machines. Users can also control the washer via the Xiaomi Home app and use voice assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for hands-free operation. The device offers more than 30 fabric care programs, with a color touchscreen panel providing access to 14 basic cycles, while 16 additional programs are available through the app. Additional features include a steam generator that claims to eliminate 99.99% of bacteria, helping to soften fabrics and reduce the need for ironing. The Refresh Care mode is designed to remove odors, wrinkles, and fine dust from one to three pieces of clothing, while the Refresh & Loosen function prevents wrinkling at the end of the cycle. The washer also includes a high-temperature drum self-cleaning program to maintain hygiene. Priced at 349 € at launch, the Mijia Front Load Washer 7kg aims to appeal to consumers looking for a smart, space-efficient, and feature-rich appliance.
