On September 1, 2026, Mozilla released Firefox version 155, introducing a new browsing mode called Smart Window. This feature is designed to function like a dedicated interface where users can interact with the browser's AI assistant, much like they would with a large language model (LLM), which is a type of artificial intelligence capable of understanding and generating human-like text. According to Windows Report, one of the new additions to the Smart Window is a feature focused on online shopping. This feature includes a "Monitor" button that allows users to track the price of a specific product across various websites and receive alerts when a favorable deal becomes available.
The "Monitor" button is positioned in the taskbar of the Smart Window, next to the button used for asking questions to the AI assistant. When users click on the "Monitor" button, they gain access to predefined tasks and the option to create new ones. While the existing LLM feature already allows users to compare the prices of two products at a specific moment through the search bar, this new feature automates the process of continuously monitoring prices over time.
According to Windows Report, users can create a new task by clicking on "Create a new task," which opens a form where they can name the task and describe what they want Firefox to do. They can then add up to five e-commerce websites to monitor and set how often the browser should check for price changes. Once the task is configured, users do not need to take any further action, as the browser will handle the monitoring automatically.
The Smart Window feature is currently being rolled out and might not yet be available to all Firefox users. Additionally, promotional offers for the iPhone 18 Pro and a 250Go data plan were mentioned, including a 50€ discount using the code NEW50 and up to a 150€ trade-in bonus for an old phone. Free delivery is also available with these offers.
