A new homeowner found a house abandoned with a dozen neglected cats suffering from disease and malnutrition, prompting a rescue mission by True Rescue.
House in poor condition
A new owner purchased a house at the end of September and discovered a situation that no one had expected. The house had been completely abandoned for months and was in a terrible unsanitary condition, with tons of waste and grime accumulated inside.Cats living alone in the house
A dozen cats and kittens were living in the house, completely on their own. The cats had survived alone during this entire period but suffered from malnutrition, skin infections, and various diseases due to lack of proper care or food.Rescuers intervene
Rescuers from the True Rescue shelter intervened to save the cats. On site, they were horrified by the unsanitary condition of the house. In a video, they indicated that they had already had to intervene in difficult cases, but this one exceeded anything they had seen in the past.Rescuers set traps
To safely capture the cats, the rescuers installed several traps inside the house and in the garden. So far, they have managed to save eight adult cats and two kittens. There are still about ten cats left to rescue.Cats need isolation
The cats that could be brought back to the shelter were examined and must remain isolated for one month, as they are carriers of a contagious disease. However, the rescuers are fairly confident: their recovery is on track.Rescuers remain determined
Once healed, they will join foster families before seeking their permanent homes. The rescuers hope to capture the other cats as soon as possible and remain determined to complete their mission.
