Porsche unveils new supercar concept

Porsche has officially introduced the Mission S, a new supercar concept that represents a significant step forward for the German automaker. The vehicle is designed to preview a future line of mid-engine sports cars, which will be positioned above the company’s iconic 911 model.

Design inspired by classic models

The Mission S draws design elements from several legendary Porsche models, including the 911, 959, and GT1. It features pronounced wings, round headlights, and a very low silhouette, along with an active rear wing and a cooling system reminiscent of the Porsche 917.

Interior focused on performance and tech

Inside the Mission S, Porsche has retained a traditional layout with five circular instruments, including a tachometer that combines analog and digital elements. The vehicle does not have a fixed central screen, but it includes a retractable MagSafe mount for smartphone use, and the seats are inspired by motorsport designs.

Details about performance remain unclear

Porsche has not yet disclosed specific details about the Mission S’s engine, power output, weight, or performance. No official release date has been announced, though the New York unveiling also honored the Porsche 550 Spyder, which was photographed at the same location in 1953. The company has emphasized that this new range will not replace the 911 in the long term.
