From September 29 to October 1, 2026, the Toulouse Team Film Office and L’Agence Unique – Occitanie Culture organized Toulouse au féminin, an event designed to showcase Toulouse as a filming location and source of inspiration for female directors and producers. The initiative aimed to connect women working in the film industry with the city’s unique landscapes, architecture, and cultural assets. Over two days, participants explored a range of locations, including the Grand Market at dawn, the Alfred-Nakache swimming pool known for its Art Deco design, the Halle de La Machine, the CNES (French space agency), the Oncopole (a biomedical research center), the Castelet, the Palais de justice, the Prefecture of Haute-Garonne, and the Midi Canal. These sites were chosen to highlight the diversity of Toulouse’s urban and scientific environments, offering a broad palette for creative storytelling. While the event featured several of Toulouse’s iconic locations, it did not include areas like Empalot, Bagatelle, Reynerie, or Isards, which are also considered ideal for a wide range of film and television genres. Nevertheless, the selected venues provided a rich and varied backdrop for cinematic projects, emphasizing the city's versatility as a filming destination. Among the participants were notable figures in the film industry, including Emma Benestan, a writer and director; Stéphanie Murat, a director and novelist; Claire Bodechon, a producer; Adriana Teofanova, a producer and general director of DMLS Films; and Virginie Sauveur, a writer, director, and producer. Their presence underscored the event’s goal of fostering connections between female creatives and the local film community. The event also offered participants a deeper look into Toulouse’s audiovisual ecosystem, highlighting the city’s resources and expertise in film production. A meeting was organized at the Palais Consulaire, where producers, technicians, service providers, and local professionals gathered to discuss filming opportunities and the skills available on the territory. This gathering aimed to strengthen collaboration between industry professionals and local stakeholders, reinforcing Toulouse’s position as a dynamic hub for film and television production. Toulouse au féminin not only showcased the city’s physical and cultural landscapes but also emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in the film industry. By focusing on female directors and producers, the event aimed to inspire new creative projects and highlight the potential of Toulouse as a filming location with a unique blend of artistic and technical resources.
