Huawei has introduced its latest line of smartwatches, the Huawei Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro, following a launch in China earlier this month. These devices are now available in France, with the GT 7 Pro priced at 429.99 euros. The standard GT 7 model comes in two sizes—41 mm and 46 mm—with both versions priced at 299.99 euros. The 46 mm model is offered in yellow, blue, or black. For the first month after launch, Huawei is offering a 50 euro discount on the entire range of new smartwatches. The Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro maintains the octagonal design of its predecessor, the GT 6 Pro, featuring a titanium alloy case and a black ceramic back. It includes a nano-ceramic bezel and sapphire glass, which are highly scratch-resistant. The GT 7 Pro is available in a single size of 45.6 x 45.6 x 11.25 mm, while the standard GT 7 is available in both 41 mm and 46 mm sizes. The GT 7 Pro introduces a new fluoroelastomer strap with a sliding tab clasp, which can be replaced with a standard 22 mm wide strap for added versatility. The GT 7 Pro is equipped with a 1.47-inch AMOLED screen, offering a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a peak brightness of 3000 cd/m². This high brightness makes the screen readable even in direct sunlight. The watch features an always-on display mode and a sleep mode that turns off the display and screen lighting when the arm is raised. Users can choose from various dials, with additional options available through the Huawei Health app. The GT 7 Pro is powered by an 867 mAh battery, providing up to 21 days of use in moderate conditions, 12 days in standard use, or 7 days with the always-on display enabled. It also offers 51 hours of battery life in trail mode and 44 hours in bike mode. The watch supports Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, multi-GNSS tracking for accurate location, and NFC for contactless payments via the Curve Pay app. In terms of health and fitness, the GT 7 Pro includes features like an optical heart rate sensor, SpO2 tracking, sleep analysis, stress level evaluation, and ECG functionality. It supports a range of sports modes, including running, cycling, swimming, and skiing, with advanced features such as trail altitude profiles, virtual power analysis, and the ability to track free diving up to 40 meters. A new AI-XDR algorithm enhances trail accuracy even in challenging environments like tunnels. The watch also includes a readiness score that combines data on sleep, training, stress, and diet to determine if the body is prepared for exercise. A morning brief provides a summary of the previous day’s activity in one sentence. The Huawei Health app allows users to access detailed training data, including VO2max, lactate threshold, and resting heart rate, through a new web platform called Huawei Training Camp. The Huawei Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro are compatible with both Android and iOS devices, with the Huawei Health app available on both platforms. The watches support call and message notifications, music playback control, and more, but they do not include 4G connectivity. Charging is done via a magnetic charger with a USB-A tip, requiring about 95 minutes for a full charge.
