Event returns to Hangar 14

This Saturday, the Second Wines Fair, organized by Terre de Vins in partnership with Cash Vin, returned to Hangar 14. Nearly 1300 visitors attended the wine fair, which now continues online on the Cash Vin website until October 1st, with the same promotional offer.

High energy and diverse offerings

The event was marked by high energy, with about sixty properties from various Bordeaux regions, including Pessac-Léognan, Médoc, Rive Droite, and Sauternes, gathering to present their second wines. These wines were available at preferential prices, with opportunities for direct interaction between producers and enthusiasts.

Consumer focus on value and accessibility

Over ten editions, the fair has become essential for wine lovers. Consumer expectations are centered on the quality-price ratio and the accessibility of second wines. According to Jérémie Daugy from Cash Vin, many customers are willing to spend over 40 € on occasional purchases, but the fair offers many second wines for under 20 €, with some as low as 10 €.

New participant highlights the event

Château d’Arsac participated for the first time, with Loïc Le Bozec praising the event as well-organized and offering direct contact with tasters. The estate presented its Kid d’Arsac 2022, a second wine made primarily from merlots, with a profile described as "explosive" and suitable for immediate enjoyment.

Established presence and symbolic offerings

Domaine de Chevalier, represented by Hugues Laydeker, has consistently participated in the fair. The property showcased its L’Esprit de Chevalier, a red and white wine that reflects the estate's identity, emphasizing power and elegance. The name symbolizes the winemaking philosophy of the domaine.

Newcomer aims to attract younger audiences

Château Guiraud, represented by Ariane Barthélémy, joined the fair for the first time, aiming to promote a more contemporary and fresher expression of their wine. The second wine is designed to be enjoyed with spicy and exotic dishes, appealing to a younger clientele.

Fresh and approachable second wine

Château Troplong-Mondot presented its Mondot red 2021, a 100% merlot wine made from a terroir rich in limestone. The wine is fresh and unaged in barrels, offering immediate drinkability while maintaining structure. The estate emphasized the value of direct interaction with customers and the fair’s attractive prices.

Visitors enjoy a mix of new and returning attendees

Among the attendees were regulars like Frédéric, who praised the fair for offering unique vintages at attractive prices. First-time visitors like Linda, an American tourist, and Etienne and Marcu, new residents in Bordeaux, also participated. Marcu appreciated the on-site boutique, which allowed for immediate purchases.

Promotion continues online

To extend the fair’s reach, the promotional offer continues on the Cash Vin website until October 1st. Visitors can still enjoy the same deal: the sixth bottle is free with the purchase of five identical bottles.
