Collection dates set for 2026

The Food Bank of Bouches-du-Rhône has scheduled its annual product collection from November 6 to 8, 2026, four days after the start of the All Saints' Day holiday. This timing aims to avoid overlap with the busy Christmas shopping season.

Collection points across the region

The food bank has published an official list of stores where donations can be made, including locations in Marseille and other parts of the Bouches-du-Rhône department. Notable stores include Lidl on Cours Belsunce and Carrefour Market on Place du 4-Septembre in Marseille, as well as locations in Aix-en-Provence, Arles, and smaller towns.

Types of donations needed

Donors can contribute non-perishable items like pasta, rice, canned goods, and hygiene products. The national network also highlights specific needs such as lentils, semolina, canned fish, baby products, and period protection. Volunteers are also needed for tasks such as receiving donations and sorting them.

Local redistribution of goods

The collected products are not sent to a central national stock but are instead redistributed locally within the Bouches-du-Rhône department. Partner associations and social structures help deliver the food to those in need, ensuring that donations made in Marseille directly support local food aid efforts.

Shift in collection timing

This year, the national food bank collection has been moved to the first weekend of November, earlier than its usual end-of-month timing. The Federation of Food Banks says this change helps distinguish the donation campaign from the commercial promotions that occur around Christmas.
