Roborock, a well-known brand in robotic cleaning technology, is expanding its line of robotic lawnmowers with the launch of the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR at IFA 2026. This new model marks a significant departure from earlier versions by eliminating the need for a peripheral cable and an RTK base, which are typically used for navigation. Instead, it relies entirely on an optical and laser navigation system, offering greater independence and flexibility. At the heart of the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR is its advanced guidance system, which combines a Sentisphere LiDAR sensor with ReactiVision Fusion vision technology. This setup enables the robot to create a 3D map of its surroundings, detect obstacles, and navigate complex environments without relying on an external signal source. The device is capable of maintaining lawns up to 800 square meters and can handle slopes as steep as 45%, as well as navigate through narrow spaces as small as 60 cm wide without losing its path. The RockNeo Q2 LiDAR also features a three-blade cutting system mounted on a floating platform, allowing it to adapt to the contours of the terrain for a more even cut. To minimize the need for manual trimming, the robot includes a PreciEdge device that enables it to cut grass as close as 3 cm from edges, such as walls, patios, or flower beds. The charging station is equipped with a direct Wi-Fi amplifier module to ensure a more stable internet connection, and the lawnmower is certified to withstand harsh weather conditions, being both waterproof (IPX6 rating) and easy to clean with a water jet. Additional features include anti-theft protection and integration with smart home systems like Google Home and Amazon Alexa for voice control or automated routines. Despite the advanced features and capabilities of the RockNeo Q2 LiDAR, Roborock has not yet provided details on the price or availability of the new model. The company is expected to share more information in the coming months.
