PIA partners with German firm for cabin upgrades

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has signed a deal with Aerotec Group, a German company, to upgrade the cabins of its five Boeing 777 aircraft. The agreement includes options to upgrade four more planes in the future.

Cabin upgrades include new features

The renovation includes fully flat business class seats, updated economy class seating, and 60 W power outlets on each seat. Additional work involves replacing carpets and updating interior design elements.

The project involves engineering, certification, supply, logistics, and technical coordination. A subsidiary of Aerotec Group, aviationcouts GmbH, will participate in the work.

Modifications will be done gradually

The upgrades will be carried out progressively, following PIA’s maintenance schedule and operational needs. Specific details about the contract value, seat configurations, and return dates for the aircraft were not disclosed.
