New Huawei smartwatches unveiled

Huawei presented a range of new smartwatches in September, including the Huawei Watch D3 with a real blood pressure monitor, as well as the Watch GT 7, Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro, Huawei Watch 6, and Watch 6 Pro.

Watch 6 Pro as the top model

The Watch 6 Pro is the highest-end model among Huawei watches, excluding the luxury models in the Ultimate line, some of which are adorned with diamonds and real gold. The Watch 6 Pro is aimed primarily at users seeking an elegant connected watch with a lifestyle design, without compromising on health tracking and sports functions.

Design and technical specifications

The Spatial Edition model comes with two straps: one in titanium and the other in fluoroelastomer, better suited for sports practice. The Huawei Watch 6 Pro has dimensions of 46.4 mm x 46.4 mm x 10.9 mm, a 1.5-inch AMOLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels, and weighs 57 g.

Features and durability

It includes an accelerometer, electronic compass, sleep analysis, ambient light sensor, and has an IP69 and 5ATM protection rating. The watch features a sapphire screen glass and a titanium detachable link bracelet with a pump system for attachment and detachment. The device is certified for resistance to immersion and hot water jets under pressure. It also has a microphone and speakers for making and receiving calls.

Software and connectivity

The Watch 6 Pro runs on HarmonyOS and uses the Huawei Health app, available on iOS and Android. It includes a dual-band GNSS chip compatible with GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, GLONASS, and QZSS constellations. The GPS precision was tested in rural and urban areas, showing performance close to the Apple Watch Series 9, with some differences in urban settings.

Health and fitness tracking

The heart rate sensor was tested against a Polar H10, showing good accuracy during a constant pace run but less so during interval training. The Watch 6 Pro offers over 100 sports modes, including running, cycling, golf, skiing, trail running, and scuba diving. It includes a warm-up feature before certain activities and a "Mission" mode for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Health features and battery life

Health tracking features include an optical heart rate sensor, temperature sensor, ECG sensor, and X-TAP sensor for health checks. It can track continuous heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, stress levels, heart rate variability, and sleep analysis. The watch has a battery life of up to 4.5 days in normal use, 3 days with Always-On Display (AOD) mode, and 7 days in power-saving mode.

Availability and pricing

It is charged using a magnetic induction charger and took 1 hour and 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 100% during testing. The Huawei Watch 6 Pro is available in two versions: a 46 mm Spatial Edition with a titanium case and a link bracelet, and a 43 mm Ceramic Edition, both priced at 679.99 euros. It was released in France on September 29, 2026, and is available on Huawei's official store and through several retailers, including Amazon.
