Three sisters—Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31—were found dead in the water near Brighton Beach on May 13. Their bodies were recovered from the sea after emergency services were called around 5:45 a.m. following concerns about a person’s welfare. Sussex Police have completed their investigation and found no evidence of third-party involvement. The cause of their deaths remains unclear, and authorities have not provided further details. The sisters had traveled to Birmingham days before their deaths, a location with deep family significance. Their mother, Janice Adetoro, drowned in 2016, and she had disappeared in December 2009. At the time, Janice was suffering from stress-related mental health issues but had not taken medication with her when she went missing. Her body was found three months later. An earlier inquest noted that she had attended a police station with "paranoid delusions" before her death. Their cousin, Natalie Walters-Daniel, 33, explained that the sisters had gone to Birmingham on a visit with a "deeper meaning," possibly connected to their mother’s death. The sisters were 20, 16, and 15 when Janice died, and Natalie said they never fully processed her loss. The family described them as private and unsociable after they moved back to London. The sisters’ father, Joseph, expressed his profound grief, stating, “No words can truly describe the pain of losing three daughters.” He paid tribute to his daughters, calling them “my joy, my strength and the beautiful light that filled my life with love.” A GoFundMe page created by their uncle, Adesoji Adetoro, has raised over £45,000 to cover funeral costs. An inquest into the sisters’ deaths is scheduled for next month, which may offer more clarity. The family is seeking answers but acknowledges they may not receive the full truth. Flowers and messages have been left near the site where the women were found, marking the location of their tragic deaths.
