Solar market trends in Q3 2026

Revolt.eco has released the second edition of its Solar Barometer, focusing on the third quarter of 2026. The report includes a new indicator on the proportion of photovoltaic (PV) projects, with or without energy management. Based on anonymized real data from more than 1,000 installers and over 45,000 projects designed and sold through the Revolt Pro solution, the Solar Barometer serves as a strategic management tool, providing installers with monthly benchmarks to assess their market position and adjust decisions accordingly.

Key indicators in the report

The report follows six indicators: the average quarterly price of installations, by power and by equipment segment; the average monthly installed power by region; the average number of projects created per installer, per month and by region; the average number of projects sold per installer, per month and by region; the average number of offers sent per client; and the proportion of projects with or without energy management.

Rising installation prices

The second edition confirms a trend observed in the first edition, which was published in September and highlighted that the market is not collapsing but transforming. After a summer dip in August, activity resumed in September, and installers have never created so many projects. However, the report also reveals a turning point to monitor: the increase in the price of installations.

Reasons for rising prices

Installation prices are rising again, with the average price across all segments increasing from 12,080 € in Q2 to 12,723 € in Q3 2026 (+5.3%). Two main causes are cited: the gradual elimination by China, as of April 1, 2026, of the VAT reimbursement for exports on modules, cells, wafers, and inverters, and the increase in raw materials (silicon, silver paste, glass, aluminum).

Stable installed power

The average installed power remains stable at 6.5 kWc in Q3 2026, almost the same as in Q2 (6.55 kWc), and focuses between 5 and 9 kWc depending on the regions.

Growth in energy management systems

The share of projects with energy management increases from 4.6% in March to 8.1% in September, with a peak at 9.6% in August. From quarter to quarter, the share progresses from 7.6% in Q2 to 8.6% in Q3 2026, and the number of projects incorporating a home energy management system (HEMS) has increased 2.3 times between March and September.

Installer activity remains stable

The average number of projects created per installer and per month remains stable, at 12.1 in Q3 2026 compared to 12.2 in Q2, despite the summer dip in August and thanks to a record of 14.7 projects in September.

Decline in project sales

The average number of projects sold per installer and per month decreases to 3.2 in Q3 compared to 3.8 in Q2, a decrease of 16%, due to the summer dip in August, before rebounding to 3.8 in September. Regional differences remain marked.

Multi-scenario approach in sales

Sales are becoming increasingly consultative, with the average number of offers sent per client increasing from 1.45 in Q2 to 1.50 in Q3 2026 (+4%). Installers are presenting several scenarios (powers, with or without battery, with or without management, incorporating future household uses). With 1.5 offers per client, the multi-scenario approach still has significant room for growth.
