Sony has reintroduced its popular WH-1000XM4 headphones under a new name, the WH-1000XM4C, with a few upgrades and a lower price compared to its newer model, the WH-1000XM6. The XM4C keeps the same design as the original XM4, including its foldable structure and hinge mechanism, and now comes in a new lavender color option. The headphones feature updated sound tuning that enhances vocal clarity and bass definition. Additional features include a 10-band equalizer for custom sound settings, Quick Access for launching streaming apps, and a quick-charge feature that gives an hour of playback after just three minutes of charging. However, battery life is slightly less than the original XM4, offering 27 hours of playback with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled and 30 hours without it. Priced at $300, the XM4C is $50 cheaper than the original XM4 and $150 less than the XM6. Alongside the XM4C, Sony introduced the WH-CH730N as a mid-range replacement for the WH-CH720N. The new model offers improved noise cancellation, AI-enhanced call clarity, and a 10-band EQ for sound customization. It also includes a foldable design, larger ear cups for comfort, and significantly improved battery life—up to 50 hours with ANC on and 75 hours without. Available in black, blue, tan, white, and pink, the WH-CH730N is priced at $180. Sony also updated its on-ear WH-CH520N model with the WH-CH530N, which includes improved sound quality, a 10-band EQ, and a gaming EQ for better audio during video games. The new model features AI-enhanced call quality and safe listening features that help prevent hearing damage from prolonged use. It offers a long battery life of up to 55 hours with ANC enabled and 75 hours without. The WH-CH530N is available in six color options—black, purple, green, white, pink, and coral—and is priced at $70. These new models provide consumers with more choices across different price points and use cases, from high-end noise-canceling headphones to more affordable on-ear options. Each model includes features aimed at improving user experience, such as better sound quality, longer battery life, and enhanced functionality for calls and streaming.
