Spotify is introducing a new initiative called Fresh Finds Forward, designed to support artists who are featured on its Fresh Finds playlists. This program, available to artists added to any Fresh Finds playlist after January 1, 2026, will provide them with 12 months of additional resources and opportunities. The initiative aims to help emerging artists gain more exposure and support beyond just being featured on playlists.
One of the most significant benefits of the program is free studio time for U.S.-based artists at well-known recording studios such as Electric Lady Studios in New York City, The Lighthouse at Ocean Way Nashville, and Spotify Studios in Los Angeles. These studios are renowned for their high-quality recording environments and have been used by many well-known musicians over the years. In addition to studio access, artists will get early access to Spotify's tools and features, priority access to tour and music video partnerships, and 12 months of Landr Studio Pro and Splice’s Creator Plan, which are digital audio tools used for music production.
Spotify is also offering a unique benefit: six months of free therapy through BetterHelp, a popular online therapy service. This addition highlights Spotify's focus on the overall well-being of artists, acknowledging the pressures and challenges that come with a career in music.
This program differs from Spotify’s previous Discovery Mode, which involved paying artists a "promotional royalty rate" in exchange for increased algorithmic promotion. In contrast, Fresh Finds Forward does not affect royalty rates and is entirely free for participating artists. The initiative reflects Spotify’s commitment to supporting artists in a sustainable and equitable way, offering valuable resources without altering the financial terms of their music distribution.
