Student performances debut at Théâtre du Nord

Students from the Mise en scène, Écriture et Dramaturgie program at the École du Nord are presenting original sketches this season as part of their training. These performances aim to showcase emerging talent in theater and highlight the creative work of future theater professionals.

Exploring themes of absence and memory

One of the performances, titled Faire plein, explores themes of silence, disappearance, and the emotional weight of family histories. The piece uses a stopped car and the approaching night as a setting for two friends caught in a moment of suspended anticipation.

Theatrical elements blend reality and dreams

In Faire plein, reality and imagination intertwine as silhouettes appear and vanish around the car. The stage becomes a space where grief, intimacy, and unresolved emotions are explored through symbolic actions and shifting landscapes.

Nam Du’s artistic vision and collaborators

The performance is created by Nam Du, who uses theater as a medium to address the absence left by family stories marked by silence. The production features students from Studio 8 of the École du Nord, including Raphaël Arhie, Louna Giriat, Lexan Léger, Takumi de Valette, and Sébastien Valot, who contributes music.

Performance details and venue

Faire plein will be performed at Ideal Ciné in Tourcoing on 29 and 30 October 2026. The production is a collaboration between Théâtre du Nord - CDN Lille Tourcoing Hauts-de-France and the École du Nord - École Professionnelle Supérieur d'Art Dramatique.
