Camp Snap, a company known for its retro-inspired digital cameras, is expanding its lineup with the new 110D model. This camera draws design inspiration from Kodak’s 110 film cameras from the 1970s, which were popular for their compact size and ease of use. The 110D is now available for preorder at $74.95, with color options including black and gray, as well as white and orange. The design emphasizes portability, making it more compact than earlier models like the Camp Snap 2 and Camp Snap Pro, and it can be worn on a wrist strap or lanyard for easy carrying. The 110D uses an 8-megapixel Sony 1/3.2-inch CMOS sensor paired with a 4.2mm, f/2.0 lens, which is compatible with 30.5mm screw-on filters for different photography styles, such as wide-angle or macro shots. It also includes five built-in software filters that mimic vintage, analog, and black-and-white effects, which users can select using a sliding switch. A 4GB microSD card is included, allowing for up to 2,000 photos before needing to transfer them to a mobile device or PC via USB-C. The card is stored behind a screw-secured door to protect it from accidental damage. Powering the camera is an 800mAh battery that provides enough energy for approximately 500 shots. The 110D includes an automatic sleep mode that conserves battery life by putting the camera into a low-power state when not in use, and it quickly wakes up when the shutter button is pressed. Additional features include a built-in flash with adjustable color temperature and a basic segmented LCD display that shows battery life and the number of photos taken. These features aim to provide a balance between functionality and the retro aesthetic that the camera is known for. The Camp Snap 110D’s design is reminiscent of low-cost 110 film cameras produced by companies like Canon, Minolta, and Pentax. It also shares similarities with the Lomatic 110 from Lomography, but unlike the Lomatic, which is an analog camera, the 110D is fully digital. Camp Snap has made improvements to the shutter mechanism, claiming the new model has a "reimagined" shutter button that offers near-instant response, addressing a common user complaint. The camera also includes a feature called Quick Draw, which allows it to wake up quickly from sleep mode and capture a photo without delay. The 110D is available in black and white colorways, each with silver and orange trims, respectively.
