Capcom releases update for Dragon's Dogma 2 on Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom released the 4.1 update for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, 2026. The update addresses a long list of known issues across various aspects of the game, including vocations, enemies, pawns, non-player characters, the interface, and quest mechanics.

Update includes minor visual change

A single general change accompanies the corrections: the facial expressions of the Arisen and pawns have been adjusted during certain actions. This tweak is meant to improve the overall visual experience and realism during gameplay.

Three vocations receive specific fixes

Three vocations are affected by the update. For the Warrior, pressing the cancel button during the Goring Lunge attack did not interrupt the attack and instead triggered the next combo. For the Archer magick, the target lock function did not work correctly. For the Mystic Spearhand, the effect of Mirour Vesture did not trigger between the Arisen and Sigurd.

Two enemy-related issues are resolved

The eyes of skeletons did not glow, and it was impossible to break free after being grabbed by a chimera. These changes should make encounters with these enemies more immersive and functional for players.

Pawns benefit from multiple corrections

Pawns receive several fixes, including being launched into the air during battles against certain enemies and their eyeballs pointing in unnatural directions. Capcom has also modified their behavior so that they fall off cliffs less frequently and now respond better to the Explore command.

Non-player characters have specific fixes

Non-player characters are also affected by the update. Choosing the equipment retouch option when talking to Hal could trigger certain quest-related conversations, preventing the player from retouching their equipment. Other fixes include unrecruited pawns and NPCs looping between locations and Norgan NPCs not appearing in the morgue after their death.

Interface receives several fixes

The interface receives several fixes, including issues with the Dash 2 control setting, Reset Camera, Weapon Skill 5, and Weapon Skill 6. Some controls would reset upon restarting the game, and text and images would display incorrectly after certain actions.

Text display and tutorial issues addressed

The tutorial for restarting the game with data carryover did not always appear, and the tutorial text would disappear when the number of stored items exceeded 2,500. These fixes should improve the clarity and usability of the game's instructions.

Quest and game mechanics issues resolved

A quest bug is fixed: in Back to the Temple, the quest could be considered failed even though all success conditions were met. A game mechanics issue is also resolved, as certain devices required to progress in a quest did not appear.

Other corrections include technical fixes

Other corrections include issues with loading times when waking the console from sleep, a visual effect resembling rain on the save selection screen, and problems with retouched equipment reverting to their original look. Finally, players could board an ox cart outside of its operating hours, leading to abnormal behavior during the journey.
